It’s crazy how everyone is made up of the same organs and mass, and yet it defines them in a completely unique way. The same raw tar felt by the tender feet of an infant and weak ones of my neighbour. At any point of time, I wonder how many different pairs of eyes are secretly wandering off into oblivion; that is the sky. My nineteen year old gaze, must be so different from that of the thirty year old who cleans my hostel room. Be that as it may; hell, my gaze yesterday was different from what it is today.
A few Thoughts put into words..
Feathers; Dangerous little feathers. A small touch on the skin, And you know it's strength. Brainless banter in an empty hearse; That is what she thinks But the banter in hollow locks of feathers, she doesn't realize. Body so neutral, so little to understand Heaviness of sorrow, Aching to be comprehended Beautiful plain feathers on a bird. Brainless banter is what she thinks.
Silent Hundreds
Here’s to some of the silent hundreds
Baking your favourite brownies
Dusting your worn out shoe, nevertheless
Buying the same brand of toothpaste
Tying your hair up the same way
Buttoning up from the bottom of the shirt
Trying the USB the wrong way first
and
Opening the rounded spice box handed to you by your grandmother.
Maybe your hundreds are yet to surface;
Maybe memories carried forth are already part of your life, breathing;
Some silence,
Some chaos.

Prospective and Perspective of Design Today
Design in its most innocent form is creative communication. In this century of creativity and innovation, the prospects of design aim to seep into every layer of society, making it an undeniable driving force for influencing the lifestyles of so many. Products, services, education systems, political systems, digital media and technology are all powered by design thinking. This is because design thinking accommodates dynamism. This very fluidity creates room for open-mindedness as well as a plan of action. It innately comes with an understanding of the “cause and effect” pattern of any system that seeks to impact human beings and a collective of thought.
Today, there is a certain desirability in creating something to meet very personal demands of people and adding value to it through service. This is exactly what would define the design industry moving forward; a sensibility that accommodates ‘for all’. This mentality brews confidence in the youth and the hope that there is a tailor-made future for each one of us. It also goes on to communicate the idea that we are moving into a future that is malleable and answerable to all. It pushes us to treat systemic issues such as global warming and unsustainable energy consumption as a matter of urgency.
As part of this generation, we do not own the luxury of careless experimentation. Thus is the transition we make moving forward. Social media proves evidence enough to make us recognize the impact of the individual. A single tap, post, reel and tweet hold the power to intentionally or unintentionally regulate trends and ideas that can be scalable. This interconnectivity is more relevant than we can comprehend and hence we are indeed moving into the future as “one”.
It is of utmost importance that designers hold a deep sense of purpose and practicality. Progress must be defined not only by advances in material technologies but also through sensitivity in practice and forums for open conversation. This is the perspective we all need to adopt.
In a world where thought alone could be rewarded greatly, its communication and representation hold greater responsibility. The burden of this responsibility is significant, but it may not be impossible to live up to, if we as creators walk together in integrity and thought.
Concept: UCOS
A narrative world-building experiment
The experiment started off as a breezy thought and less motivated for an intentional world-building concept. As much as writing this story helped me explore new realms of my imagination, it has taught me to appreciate thoughts that come in lesser colours. To really listen to the metaphors.
I imagine there is a plane in our subconscious that has already experienced much of what we see in the material universe today. There is courage in listening to your instincts and trusting the process. UCOS is but a metaphor for some parts of the world we live in today.
Was it intended to have a positive or negative undertone? I do not know. Was it to voice out a particular satire in our current society? I am still unsure.
World – Building Writing Experiment

The art of world-building has always fascinated me in terms of being able to ingrain a unique strength and power in one’s imagination. Worldbuilding is the process of constructing an imaginary world, sometimes associated with a whole fictional universe. Developing an imaginary setting with coherent qualities such as a history, geography, and ecology is a key task for many science fiction or fantasy writers.
I recently started developing an interest towards short-story writing and decided to conduct a small writing experiment.
This experiment is my creativity generated and flown in the direction of fictional world-building after reading Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. It is one of my most favourite reads, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has an appreciation for imaginative and confabulatory thinking.
I explored the world of narrative world-building through short story writing and would be posting them as a small series on this blog. Stay tuned!!
Confabulations
I started exploring the concept of Confabulations as part of my internship at Living Midnight narrative Outfit. They are a narrative-based design and research think tank. It believes in the power of stories to shape worlds. Their projects are about participatory design and co-created research that renders voices from the fringe, the marginal and the underground.
I am proud to have gotten the opportunity to work and learn with them. I have always had a dream to give back to the society and environment in any which way I can and learning with Living Midnight helps me to get closer to that dream, everyday. Apart from learning professional etiquette, I also learn about friendships, hard work and dedication.
